Merrie Monarch Festival 2011

Once again Hawaiian Body Products joined in celebrating the 29th Merrie Monarch International Hula Festival in Hilo by exhibiting our products and enjoying four days of culture including amazing music, hula and original crafts from around the Hawaiian islands.

Thank you Chris and Joann for this fun composit photograph!

Ola had a busy week at the show seeing many repeat customers from all over the world who keep coming back to Hilo to celebrate this beautiful and spiritual Hilo tradition.

Although we didnt see the usual number of Japanese visitors or Halaus to the Festival this year we were all holding Japan in our hearts following the Tsunami disaster of March 11th.

Mariko from Hale Lomilomi Studio in Hilo is making beautiful lauhala bracelets that make the statement that we send our aloha by donating all the proceeds of the sales to Japan Tsunami relief.
Anyone interested please contact me (robin@hawaiianbodyproducts.com) or Mariko at Hale Lomilomi (www.halelomilomi.com)to purchase your bracelets and help Japan recover. Only $15. each!

This year I was lucky enough to get a ticket to the last night of hula performances which was such a thrill! Yea! Mahalo to Edite from France who generously shared her extra tickets! Mahalo to Kamaluhia as well!

We were so blessed with clear and sunny weather throughout the whole week which made the parade on Saturday even more of a huge success.

A hui ho!
